The ExactSTART™ Platform (START:
Selective Tagging and Amplification of RNA Transcripts)
of transcriptome discovery and analysis tools enables the user to produce
cDNA, "tagged" at both its 5´ and 3´ ends, from
any class of RNA in a total RNA preparation.
By incorporating 5´ and 3´ tags with unique,
functional sequences, the cDNA can be used for a specific downstream
application, such as deep sequencing (RNA-Seq), 5’ & 3’-RACE,
library cloning, RT-PCR, microarray target preparation, and other RNA
transcript discovery and analysis methods.

and coworkers (1.3M PDF), Imperial College London, are the
first to report the preparation of Roche 454 sequencing template
using the ExactSTART process.
