Job Objective
Grow current business and develop new opportunities for territory growth
by providing technical information and support, thereby generating sales
leads and building strong customer relationships. FAS are responsible for
coordination of all major customer-defined activities in their assigned territories.
Essential Duties
- Design and implement a coordinated business plan for the assigned territory
that is in line with the company focus.
- Organize and conduct field activities such as technology and product
seminars, workshops, focus groups, and product demonstrations at customer
sites on a regular basis in the assigned territory. Develop thorough knowledge
of EPICENTRE's products and effective communication of applications related
to these products.
- Support and develop strong customer relationships by providing technical
support and by acting as a liaison between the customer and various internal
functions, bringing field issues in house, and providing necessary follow-up.
- Gain customer feedback on products, monitor competition, and report important
activities (technical developments, trends within key accounts, seminars,
training sessions, etc.) back to EPICENTRE.
- Represent EPICENTRE at conferences, shows, workshops and seminars locally,
regionally, or nationally, as necessary. Organize and plan lectures, vendor
shows, workshops and seminars in specific territory.
- Identify both new technologies/products and “targeted” technologies/products
that will benefit EPICENTRE's business efforts. Gather field data to drive
the product development process. Utilize internal channels to report information.
- Identify bulk, OEM, and custom business opportunities, and get involved
in negotiating agreements.
- Proactively evaluate the needs of freezer programs, and establish and
manage new and existing freezer programs in the assigned territory.
- Maintain and enhance the current customer database through designated
customer relations management (CRM) functions. Use the CRM system completely
to fulfill management expectations, recording and using customer and sales
information, including opportunities funnel management
- Provide professional written and verbal communication of territory sales
status, successes, failures, and best practices to management on a monthly
basis.
Qualifications
- BS or BA (MS or PhD preferred) degree in a life sciences-related discipline.
- Technical competency to understand and to clearly discuss fundamental
theory and principles of experimental design, techniques and results; to
stay current in technical knowledge; to troubleshoot and to provide information
back to the customer in a helpful, courteous, positive, and professional
manner.
- Minimum of three years lab experience with proven knowledge and understanding
of molecular biology, genomics, gene expression analysis, and related subjects.
- Minimum one year previous experience working with customers in sales,
marketing, customer service, technical service, or similar environment.
- Previous experience giving oral presentations, teaching or training other
scientists. Ability to display excellent written and verbal communication
and listening skills.
- Highly driven, independent worker with a strong motivation to succeed.
- An approachable manner that encourages interaction with others.
- Well organized, able to devise and manage systems for handling customers/accounts.
- Ability to be flexible in work schedule and accommodate unexpected work
changes.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for worldwide sales of assigned product portfolio by developing
and implementing marketing plans and strategies.
- Manage new and existing products by developing and implementing product
marketing plans, which include new product development, competitive analysis,
product positioning, revenue and unit forecasting, pricing strategies, and
product life-cycle management.
- Develop tactical plans, create effective promotional and sales tools
and collateral marketing pieces, and utilize multiple channels to promote
products.
- Conduct market research, and maintain knowledge of the trends and competitive
activity relevant to the assigned product area. Use such knowledge to change
or modify marketing plans and tactics/actions.

Qualifications
- B.S. in biological sciences with good knowledge of current technologies
